Building strong foundations for a bright future
JCB's is a domestic preschool/nursery based in Catton Grove, Norwich and was born out of love.
Jenny, our manager, started childminding over 17 years ago when she had her own 3 boys. With a house full of hustle and bustle and bursting at the seams with toys and equipment Jenny started the process to expand.
JCB's has erected a purpose built 42 square meter extension to allow for more children to attend and the setting has shifted from a childminding business to a domestic nursery with term time sessional care. We provide the free nursery education for children aged 9 months to 4 years.
This is a flexible setting that really enjoys spending time teaching and nurturing your child. Learning opportunities, equipment and activities that your child will enjoy will be provided and adapted according to age, preference, and ability.
We are determined to keep our setting as home like as possible. Going to any setting when you're little especially under school age can be daunting and we aim to make the transition as smooth and as enjoyable as possible. We keep our numbers low and with only 4 children to each member of staff (only 3 under 2's per staff member) so we have the time to get to know your little ones really well.
Having an inclusive setting means that we support children of all abilities and backgrounds. Over time our setting has attracted more children with special educational needs. This means that we have built a wealth of experience and equipment to support your child and their family. We also have a designated sensory space accessible to all children that can also be used for 1-1 interventions and settling.
We work closely with other professionals including health visitors, speech and language therapists and welcome visits from professionals undertaking assessments. We push for the best development from all of our children and believe that children learn a lot from demonstrating their knowledge so we promote a learning environment where helpfulness is promoted. We are a mixed ratio setting and we are passionate about the benefits of this, the babies learn from the children and the older children take such pride in sharing their knowledge with the younger children.
